Saint-Rémy de Provence is undoubtedly one of the most famous cities in the Alpilles. Amateurs of old stones will be seduced by the riches of its history: the antique site of Glanum, the Mausolée des Antiques, the Arch of Triumph, the church of Saint Martin, the monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole, grand town houses, ancient restored residences, stone fountains, small shaded squares where you can enjoy a relaxing drink... The countryside around the town is just as rich and varied and has inspired a great many artists, Vincent van Gogh being maybe the most famous. It is ideal for pleasant walks, with its many paths and trails bordered by olive trees and cypresses, to the soothing sound of the cicadas singing.
